Voice teacher and conductor Irene Verburg (the Netherlands) started her earliest training in the National Children’s Choir of the Netherlands. There, she discovered her passion for singing. She studied Classical Singing at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague (Master Degree) and at the Dutch Opera Academy. Winning the prestigious Dutch Government Talent Award enabled her to continue her studies in New York. Irene performs as a concert and opera singer in The Netherlands and abroad. 

Through her extensive experience as a vocal coach for the Nationale Koren (National Choirs), she specializes in healthy and effective voice technique for young voices. In this role she prepared the choirs vocally for various concert productions with illustrious maestri, such as Vladimir Jurowski, Iván Fischer, Markus Stenz, Yannick Nézet-Séguin and Sir John Eliot Gardiner. In 2018 Irene founded the soloist class as part of the Netherlands Boys Choir. Boy soloists from this group perform regularly in professional concert productions and recordings. 

Irene Verburg worked as a voice teacher at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and was faculty member of the 2017 Kodaly Festival in Hungary. Irene Verburg is artistic director of Vocaal Talent Nederland, the foundation that supports the National Choirs (Nationale Koren).
