Beat Schäfer

Beat Schäfer (Switzerland) is a specialist in music education in schools and has decades of experience teaching and managing a wide range of musical institutes in and around Zurich. Beat has led many singing weeks, open singings and music courses. As director of institutes like the Zurich Cantor School and head of the department of choir conducting, organ and church music at the Zurich University of Arts, and founder of a multi-choir singing school, Beat wrote many choir arrangements and has written articles on music training and education for specialized magazines.

In addition to his musical activities, he is also active in various associations and public bodies like the Zurich Church Music Association and the Music Commission of the Presidential Department of the City of Zurich. Beat is often asked to be an adjudicator for choir competitions around Europe.
