conducting - teaching
Thursday 14.00 hrs
Academiegebouw

Singing is at the core of making music, collective singing even more. How can we make sure that collective singing is taken as seriously as instrumental music when training students? How can we stimulate bridging the gap between the bubble of the Higher Music Education Institutions and the real world out there? Students conducting are trained for professional choirs but mostly work with amateur choirs that require a totally different approach. There are good examples on how bridges are crossed, but it seems we need a mindshift of all involved to make these bridges sustainable.
