Overtone singing with choirs – Anna-Maria Hefele

Friday 9.30hrs

Join this workshop with renowned overtone singer Anna-Maria Hefele to learn more about the ins and outs of overtone singing and how you can use it in your daily practice. Overtone singing can function as an educational tool for singers, choral conductors and voice teachers. Being able to hear and control the harmonics in the voice refines a singer‘s audio perception regarding timbre and vowel color, and improves blending and intonation in any vocal ensemble.

Overtone singing is a fascinating vocal technique where it seems like one person is singing two notes at the same time. This happens by filtering and amplifying the harmonics that are contained in the sound of the human voice. Learn to amplify your own harmonics in this workshop, and experience the why and how of those sounds from beyond yourself.

This workshop is specifically meant for those who are already experienced with overtone singing. Anna-Maria hosts another workshop on Thursday morning, on a beginner’s level.
