The ensemble I Fagiolini was founded by Robert Hollingworth, and is known for their innovative productions. Under Roberts leadership, the ensemble became a famous group of ‘musical shapeshifters’, shining new light on early works through approachable and imaginative arrangements and staging.

In this workshop, you dive into the mind of Robert Hollingworth. Get to know the brain behind the success, through video material, open conversations and simple Q&A. How do you go about bringing (early) music to the big public? The content of this session is partly in your hands, so come prepared and bring your burning questions!

Robert Hollingworth

Robert Hollingworth was a chorister at Hereford Cathedral, set up his first solo-voice ensemble at the age of 16 and read music at New College, Oxford, followed by a year at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. In place of a conventional academic career he has spent 35 years directing vocal groups, notably I Fagiolini.
