Creating a musical story – dramaturgy in choir performances – Sofia Gioldasi & Basilio Astulez

LEARN
workshop (90-150 min.)
conducting - teaching
Friday 14.00 hrs
Bibliotheek Neude

In this workshop, led by children’s choir specialists Sofia Gioldasi and Basilio Astulez, you discover how you can create a concert programme for children and youth choirs, by using a single short-term story.

They cover topics like: What are the important elements when choosing a story? How do you combine songs from different styles and era’s within the same performance? How can you intertwine the songs with the text and with all the other elements of the performance (such as choral body movements, dance, storytelling, etc.)?

The participants and  workshop leaders will gather a variety of choral songs for equal voices to be used, in order to eventually create a complete staged performance! The story will be available in advance.
