The cradle of Renaissance music resides in Italy, among the chapels music … but how is choral music flourishing in Italy? What language of choral writing is making its way in Italy? How, on the other hand, is the relationship of composers with sacred texts in Slovenia, which has compositional influences from northern and eastern Europe? Who are the composers who are quickly establishing themselves internationally? How much connection is there still in modern writing with the past? Petra Grassi

Petra Grassi (Slovenia/Italy) graduated as a pianist and music teacher from the G. Tartini Conservatory in Trieste. Afterwards, she specialized in conducting and composition at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana and the F.A. Bonporti Conservatory in Trento, graduating cum laude under the tutelage of Lorenzo Donati.
